As a trusted partner to our client, Converge Technology Solutions is helping to identify, screen and hire a full-time, permanent Senior Infrastructure Engineer near Dallas, Texas with occasional travel to Plano, Texas. 

 

You will be responsible for ensuring the F5 BIG-IP LTM/ASM/APM/GTM/iRules/WAF components, F5 Big-IQ, Palo Alto virtual firewalls, network environment, infrastructure, and connected systems are optimized, secure and operating at peak efficiency at all times. This role cooperates closely with the Infrastructure, DevOps, Developer and other IT teams.

 

Responsibilities                                       

  • Configure, manage and ensure the virtualized Palo Alto Firewalls, IPS, Cisco Nexus switches, VPNs are optimized, secure and operating at peak efficiency at all times
  • Experience using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code techniques and patterns to configure and manage network devices such as F5 BIG-IP and Cisco switches - preferred
  • Experience administering the F5 BIG-IP LTM/ASM/APM/GTM/iRules/WAF, F5 BIG-IQ
  • Create, update & maintain documentation of the network environment (e.g. Visio)
  • Monitor and test network performance for availability, utilization, throughput and latency.
  • Provide network performance statistics/reports and identify how performance can be improved
  • Experience implementing CIS benchmarks
  • Solarwinds network, server, application management / monitoring experience
  • Experience managing network equipment logs (local log storage, then forwarding to SIEM)
  • Experience working in a PCI-DSS environment
  • Manage employee access and access to resources
  • Support network/infrastructure which operates 24 x 7. Provide backup services to the IT team when others are unavailable
  • Ensure network and systems security, integrity, and availability with best practices including malware protection, intrusion security, advanced firewalls, VPNs, network access control, vulnerability management, and systems integrity

 

Preferred Technical Experience

  • Extensive experience configuration/managing/monitoring enterprise networks including Cisco / Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Nexus switches, VPNs, VLANs, routing, IPS, access points and other network equipment with a focus on high availability and security
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/UDP protocols, IP subnetting, SNMP, STP, VTP, QOS and VLAN’s.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience administering the F5 BIG-IP LTM/ASM/APM/GTM/iRules/WAF
  • Minimum 10 years of IT network administration work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of IT network security work experience
  • Minimum 8 years of Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, IPS, Cisco Nexus switches, VPN, VLAN configuration / management work experience
  • 2+ years of experience using Ansible and Infrastructure as Code techniques and patterns to configure and manage network devices such as F5 BIG-IP and Cisco switches
  • 8+ years of experience managing Solarwinds monitoring/alerting on network, servers, services, applications
  • 5+ years of experience with PCI-DSS audits / remediating vulnerabilities
